We are looking for people who share our vision, mission and values to help us be a better Keele Students' Union.
Who are we?
Students' Unions are dynamic, fun, yet professional places to work. Keele SU is no different; professional teams support elected student leaders so we can make change, improve lives and fulfill potential - we help make it happen.
Keele SU is one of more than 550 students' unions across the country with approx. 14,000 members, a huge range of services and a bold strategy for our future, we're one of the most exciting.
As well as supporting representational, recreational and support services, we also have a significant commercial aspect aspect. Running bars, a nightclub, catering and Co-op store on campus.
What's the role?
Keele SU is an independent charity, and our Trustees provide strategic oversight of our operations, ensure that we are performing in line with our values, vision and mission and that we are acting in the best interests of our student members. Collectively, the board is responsible for all that the students' union does and they delegate a number of their responsibilities to the staff of the SU, so ensuring those people are supported and challenged to do a great job is a big part of our work. The trustee board is made up of a mixture of elected and appointed students, and externally appointed specialists. A variety of backgrounds, experiences and skills give us the best chance of making good decisions for students. Trusteeship is fulfilling and great for the CV. You'll be involved in setting budgets for an organisation with a turnover of more than £4 million, oversee the work of the Chief Executive and Leadership Team and agree strategic priorities.
We are looking to recruit a student trustee to our Trustee Board.
